Overview
As Breakfast Chef de Rang at Sofitel London St James, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional breakfast experience that reflects our French art de vivre and five-star luxury standards. You will oversee a designated section of the restaurant, ensuring attentive and personalised service. Following the breakfast period, you will support the smooth transition into lunch or afternoon tea service, contributing to a seamless and elegant dining experience throughout your shift.
Main Responsibilities
* Welcome and attend to guests with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
* Ensure smooth and timely service within your section during the breakfast period.
* Maintain a high standard of mise-en-place and cleanliness before, during, and after service.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of the breakfast menu, including dietary options and allergen information.
* Collaborate effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Handle guest requests and feedback promptly, ensuring any issues are communicated to management.
* Upsell menu items and provide recommendations to enhance the guest experience.
* After the breakfast service, assist the team with preparation and service of lunch or afternoon tea as required.
* Support the overall team with resetting the restaurant and transitioning between service periods.
* Guide and support junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
* Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with company and legal regulations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
* Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, particularly breakfast and afternoon tea.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality.
* Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
* High attention to detail, with a proactive and guest-focused approach.
* A team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to support across different service periods.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
* Right to work in the UK.
