Overview
Our client, a prominent London Borough in North London, is seeking a dedicated Highways Engineer on a contract basis to join their Design and Delivery Team. This role involves delivering the design and construction of new schemes within the highways discipline.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering a range of projects from inception to completion through the application of specialist skills
* Conducting inspections and surveys to assess project requirements
* Performing feasibility and options studies for proposed projects
* Managing projects, including budgetary and financial control
* Designing and supervising the construction of highway schemes
* Providing expert advice on environmental and civil engineering design
* Managing highway maintenance and asset management issues
* Maintaining effective contract management and site supervision
* Simultaneously delivering multiple complex projects or work programmes
Job Requirements
* Experience in highway maintenance and asset management
* Expertise in delivering schemes within an urban environment
* Knowledge of environmental and civil engineering design principles
* Ability to perform project inspections, surveys, and feasibility studies
* Proficiency in project management and financial control
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
* HNC/BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and expertise
