MCS Group is working closely to support a fantastic organisation in the local market in their search for an IT Manager. With operations across the island of Ireland, they're looking for a hands-on IT Manager who can bring structure, direction and momentum to the IT function; helping a small team move from reactive support to a more efficient, strategic way of working and growing this over time. About the organisation You'd be joining a well-established organisation in the charity sector The organisation employs around 650 people across Ireland and is investing in digitisation and smarter systems to support its frontline services. The technology environment is already fully cloud-based, giving you a solid platform to build from. The opportunity You'll take ownership of the IT function and lead a team of five people, with plans to grow the team with two additional second-line engineers once you're in place. The role is deliberately balanced between leadership and hands-on delivery (roughly 50/50). You'll set direction but also stay close enough to the technology to help solve problems and guide the team. Your focus will include: Bringing structure, processes and clear ways of working to the IT team Improving team efficiency and service delivery Reducing operational costs through smarter use of technology Addressing a backlog of support tickets and operational issues Exploring systems integration opportunities across the business Managing the IT budget and technology roadmap Developing and mentoring the existing IT team Supporting cyber resilience and data protection What they're looking for This role will suit an IT Professional who enjoys improving and organising IT environments, particularly within smaller teams where you can see the direct results of your work.
