CBRN Operational Constable (SW) - Police Constable - Radiological & Nuclear Inland Detection - Counter Terrorism Policing WM. Join to apply for the role at Counter Terrorism Policing. Working as part of a dedicated RN team, you’ll support the planning and integration of radiation & nuclear detection equipment into the protective security layer of policing for major public events (including political, sport, entertainment and military). You will also support the response to any radioactive or nuclear source that is out of regulatory control, either through loss or criminal intent, further supporting the Protect, Prepare & Pursue elements of the National Contest Strategy.
Contract type – Full Time, Secondment. Rank – Police Constable.
You’ll have the ability to enhance your profile through ongoing learning and technological advances, working closely with key partners across the CBRN landscape. Successful applicants will be expected to travel to other locations within the UK in line with the capability requirements. If appropriate an allowance is provided for all business travel, sustenance expense and overnight accommodation.
Responsibilities
* Operationally deploy with radiological & nuclear detection equipment within the Protect & Pursue elements of the National Contest Strategy across the UK.
* Work with host Forces to deploy radiological & nuclear detection architecture into major public events.
* Support the development of bespoke deployment plans for operational activity.
* Volunteer for the NCBRNC Duty Officer On-Call cadre. This weekly 24/7 on-call role is rotated between Constables and Sergeants, to support Duty Managers (Inspectors) and the SLT.
