As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO team to support students with a range of additional needs, including those with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will provide both in-class support and targeted interventions, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
* Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities.
* Promoting positive behaviour and social development.
* Monitoring and recording student progress, feeding back to the SEN team and teachers.
* Helping to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the needs of all learners.
* Have experience working with young people in an educational, care, or support setting (desirable but not essential).
* Hold relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or be willing to undertake training.
* Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
