Bookkeeper
* Annual Salary: Up to £36,000
* Location: Chelmsford
* Job Type: Full-time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a client based in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, playing a crucial role in maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing financial transactions and records.
* Ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
* Reconciling bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
* Completing VAT returns and preparing financial reports.
* Assisting with budget preparation and audits.
* Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system.
* Providing clerical and administrative support as needed.
* Being open to travelling to Europe for company events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Advanced experience using Xero accounting software.
* Proven bookkeeping experience.
* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
* Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
* Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
* Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
* Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
