Job description:

We are looking for a talented Model Design Engineer to join our growing team at our state-of-the-art Silverstone facility. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver high-quality, model components for wind tunnel testing. Your designs will play a crucial role in the aerodynamic development of our race cars, directly influencing on-track performance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and deliver high-quality wind tunnel model components to specification.
* Own design projects end-to-end, including part creation, management, checking, documentation, and fault resolution.
* Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists and Surface Designers to ensure designs meet technical and performance requirements.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, model robustness, and testing efficiency.
* Support the development and implementation of enhanced working methodologies and design processes.
* Follow best practices and design guidelines set by the Aero Design groups.
* Occasional travel may be required for project collaboration or development support.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

* Proficiency in CATIA 3D/3DExperience (desirable)
* Strong understanding of parametric modelling, part robustness, and model layout principles.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a motorsport or high-performance engineering environment.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Requirements

* Degree in Engineering, Design, Motorsport, or a related field.
* Familiarity with FEA/hand calculation for part validation and structural assessment.
* Solid knowledge of composite materials and advanced manufacturing techniques.
* Competent in GD&T application and engineering drawing standards.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Committed to contributing to an inclusive and respectful team culture.
