Overview
Registered Children’s Home Manager position located in Cheddar, Somerset (BS27). The role leads a 3-bed home for young people aged 10–17 and is part of a wider Homes2Inspire partnership across Somerset.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the team to deliver excellent care every day.
* Ensure the home is safe, nurturing, and a place to belong.
* Take the lead in care planning, reviews, and work with social workers, schools, and other professionals.
* Ensure the home meets Ofsted requirements and achieves positive inspection outcomes.
* Manage safeguarding, health and safety, record-keeping, and compliance.
* Be a positive presence in the home, celebrate wins, guide through challenges, and create space for fun and growth.
* Support staff development through supervision, training, and performance reviews.
* Build strong relationships with external partners, families (where appropriate), and the wider community.
* Manage the home’s budget and resources effectively.
* Lead by example in balancing structure, consistency, and warmth in daily care.
What You’ll Bring
* A passion for creating brighter futures with Homes2Inspire, part of Shaw Trust.
* A Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
* At least two years’ recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a registered children’s home.
* Solid understanding of legislation and Ofsted regulations.
* Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
* Confidence in working collaboratively with the Responsible Individual and strategic partners.
* Full UK driving licence.
* An enhanced DBS check (funded by Homes2Inspire).

Our Cheddar home is part of a broader development including therapeutic education, CAMHS, and high-needs foster carers. Homes2Inspire operates over 50 homes across the UK with clinical supervision and multidisciplinary support.
