West One is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their Development Finance division as Head of Development Monitoring. The successful individual will join a fast growing team which will require them to take on added responsibilities as the team expands.
Key Accountabilities
* Managing the panel of monitoring surveyors West One use to monitor construction sites
* Reviewing of initial monitoring surveyor reports and proving analysis and feedback to assist the credit team working on the application
* Carrying out site visits across the development portfolio to ensure sites are progressing in line with expectations and reporting back to the credit teams on progress
* Overall reporting of the portfolio from a construction perspective including build cost analysis and programme analysis
* Reviewing interim monitoring reports and providing feedback for the credit teams throughout the construction period
* Management of non-performing loans when required which can include the build out of part complete developments
Skills & Competencies
* Must be MRICS and be able to liaise with key stakeholders of the development
* Ability to analyse development projects including build cost analysis and professional team analysis
* Knowledge of building regulations, planning regulations, and key compliance issues associated with development sites
* Ability to spot potential construction issues on site
* Ability to procure and manage the construction of a development site when needed
* Strong communication skills essential for dealing with monitors, developers and internal stakeholders
Knowledge & Qualifications
* The applicant should be joining the team from a lender operating in the development finance space or b working for a monitoring surveyor / QS firm where they have experience monitoring development sites
* Must be MRICS qualified
