An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading data centre team, working within a critical environment that demands high standards of technical expertise and reliability.
This role offers exposure to cutting-edge infrastructure, working with advanced electrical and mechanical systems to maintain uptime and efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and fault-find on electrical systems within a live data centre environment.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on critical plant.
Work on HV/LV systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, and lighting systems.
Monitor and respond to building management and alarm systems.
Support mechanical and HVAC systems as part of a multi-skilled team.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
Complete job sheets, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation accurately.
Participate in the shift rota, providing full coverage to ensure 24/7 operational reliability.
Skills & Experience Required: Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations .
Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer within a data centre or critical environment .
Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and building services infrastructure .
Strong fault-finding ability and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
