Moulding Setter / Injection Moulding Technician
Location: Manchester
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Shifts: Monday - Thursday 6am-6pm / rotational 6pm-6am
Our client, a well-established manufacturer in Manchester, is seeking an experienced Moulding Setter / Injection Moulding Technician to join their production team. Role Purpose
To ensure all products are manufactured safely and efficiently in accordance with supplied formulas or specifications. The successful candidate will operate production equipment to achieve high-quality moulded products while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor production processes to ensure optimum running conditions
Perform tooling changeovers and assist with start-up and shutdown of moulding/extrusion lines
Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related production or quality issues efficiently
Produce high-quality moulded products in line with specifications
Conduct barrel and screw cleaning
Complete accurate end-of-shift handovers
Move raw materials and finished goods safely using forklift/manual handling
Perform tool trials and support other moulding setters and operators
Minimise scrap and waste to achieve optimum production
Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards within the department
Record quality checks and monitor product standards throughout each shift
Follow and understand operating procedures and setting sheets
Report any breaches of works rules to the Production Manager immediately

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Previous experience as an injection moulding technician/setter
PVC or plastics experience preferred
Knowledge of plastics, their uses, and properties
Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
Previous experience in the plastics industry desirable but not essential
