The role of an Autism Support Worker:
Support students who may struggle with their classwork
* Help create a fun, friendly, and inclusive learning environment
* Provide support to the class teacher
* Assist with preparing lesson materials and organising classroom displays
* Maintain a tidy and presentable classroom
* Encourage children to work to the best of their ability
* Help manage classroom behaviour
* Listen to children read and support them with phonics practiceThe successful Autism Support Worker will:
Be calm, compassionate, and positive - personality is everything!
* Be confident in taking initiative and problem-solving
* Ideally have some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
* Be patient and understanding of additional learning needs
* Have a strong awareness of safeguarding in schools
* Hold an enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one
* Have the right to live and work in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)
