We are partnering with a highly regarded international arbitration law firm, recognised globally for its work in complex, high-value international arbitration. Despite its relatively lean size, the firm is consistently ranked at the top of the arbitration market and acts for premium clients including corporates, industry leaders and sovereign entities.
The firm is looking to hire one or two mid–senior level Construction focussed international arbitration lawyers to join its London office. This role offers exceptional exposure to partners, hands-on responsibility and the opportunity to develop a strong personal profile in the international arbitration space.
Typical duties for the role will include:
* Working closely with partners and colleagues across offices on complex international arbitration matters.
* Developing case strategy and theory alongside senior team members.
* Drafting key written submissions and managing contributions from junior lawyers.
* Managing research, document review and evidential workstreams.
* Assisting with the preparation of witness and expert evidence.
* Liaising directly with clients, witnesses, experts, tribunals, courts and opposing counsel.
* Supporting business development initiatives including publications, client briefings and conference participation.
The successful candidate will have:
* Strong experience in international arbitration ideally involving construction, infrastructure, energy, mining, oil & gas, or engineering disputes.
* Experience handling technical, delay and quantum-related issues.
* Excellent drafting skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely and persuasively.
* A strong academic background.
* A solid understanding of arbitration procedure and arbitration-related court litigation.
* The ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
* Confidence communicating with clients, tribunals and colleagues at all levels.
* Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
* PQE is flexible, and the firm is open to candidates operating comfortably at senior associate level.
Hours & Working Pattern:
Target hours circa 1,900
Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 home)
Salary & Bonus:
£165,000 + (Flexible and to be discussed)
