Year 5 Teaching Assistant – Birmingham – Start September 2025 Location: Birmingham Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: September 2025 Pay: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience) Are you a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Key Stage 2? Protocool Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school in South Birmingham to appoint a Year 5 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, continuing for the full academic year. You will play a key part in ensuring the Year 5 class is supported both academically and pastorally, with some additional responsibility for children with SEND. About the Role: As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will: Work closely with the class teacher to provide whole-class support during lessons, ensuring pupils stay engaged and on task Lead small group interventions in maths and English, tailored to pupils who need additional reinforcement or challenge Support pupils in developing their independence, confidence, and learning strategies Assist with behaviour management and promote positive behaviour across the classroom Occasionally provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND, including those with mild autism or SEMH needs Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays Monitor and record pupil progress and report feedback to the teacher and SENCO Help to establish a calm, organised, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning for all This is a varied role ideal for a TA who enjoys being actively involved in all aspects of classroom life and is confident working across ability levels. What We’re Looking For: Experience supporting children in Key Stage 2, ideally within a school setting Good understanding of the primary curriculum, especially literacy and numeracy in upper KS2 Some experience working with children with SEND, or a strong willingness to learn A flexible and collaborative attitude, with strong communication skills The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents A relevant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential Why Work with Protocool Education?
