My husband is looking to accept a job overseas, and we are looking into my visiting him every other week starting from a Wednesday or Thursday (depending on flight times) to Sunday. We have a 10year old GSDxRottie who weighs around 32kg. She walks well on a lead, and is sedate in the house, house trained, she is not destructive in any way to furniture or toys, and would not require giant walks anymore due to age/historical leg injuries, so 20-30 minute walks would be fine. She is not suitable to be in a home with another dog unfortunately, and while she is not reactive (in that she will happily walk past another dog without complaint, no barking or pulling etc) she prefers her own space and would not appreciate another dog in her face. While we have a toddler ourselves, I would prefer her to be in a child free home or with older responsible children if possible. We have family that could have her on some of the “every other” week, but would prefer to have something more stable, and reliable in place. As it’s a big part of whether my husband decides to accept said overseas job or not, as it would be the difference of being able to regularly see his family or not. Our pooch has been with us for 10years and has never stayed in kennels, she is a much loved family member, and is for lack of a better term low maintenance. She settles well in new places, and is not a barker. Thank you for your consideration :)
