You will be a valued member of the team supported by an in-house team of cleaners and we are part of Arden Forest MAT with a supportive central team including a Facilities Manager who provides support and advice to caretakers across all of our schools. Training within the role can be provided for applicants who might not have previous experience of a caretaking role in a school. Recent government investment in the school over the last 12 months has improved the condition of our school with a full programme of roof and cladding works and a complete refurbishment of the swimming pool nearing completion. This is an exciting time to join the team as the swimming pool is scheduled to reopen for swimming lessons for all of the children at our school and will be available for hire to other local schools and community groups. Within this role, the successful candidate will carry out a programme of maintenance of the school; respond to ad hoc maintenance needs; conduct testing of security and water systems; maintain the swimming pool; lead the school team of five cleaners and work both independently and as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Relevant experience as a caretaker or applicants with a maintenance background would be an advantage. We are seeking someone with an eye for detail, a background in maintenance, health and safety or facilities management would be an advantage but not essential. This is a role that may suit someone newly retired or a young person looking for a responsible, skilled job.
