Catering Assistant / Chef Start Date: 23/01 Duration: 3 weeks (with potential to be extended) Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 3:00pm Pay Rate: Competitive We are currently recruiting a Catering Assistant / Chef to support the smooth running of a busy canteen within a local factory based in HU3. This is a great short‑term opportunity with the possibility to continue for the right person. Key Responsibilities: Preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold meals for factory staff Assisting with daily food preparation, including chopping, prepping, and batch cooking Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Serving customers politely and professionally during busy lunch periods Ensuring excellent food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained at all times Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and well‑organised Managing stock levels and reporting any shortages Supporting general kitchen duties such as washing up, cleaning surfaces, and waste management Working closely with the team to maintain smooth service throughout the day What We're Looking For: Previous hospitality or catering experience is essential Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Good communication skills and a positive, reliable attitude Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices Someone friendly, hardworking, and confident serving customersIf you're looking for a short-term position with potential for longer-term work and you enjoy working in a friendly, supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
