Job Summary
The role will provide a specialist Paramedic resource for our Primary Care Network (PCN) supporting across four practices: Mounts Medical Centre, Favell Plus Surgery, Mayfield Surgery & Maple Access Partnership Surgery.
As an autonomous and accountable Paramedic, you will offer a holistic approach to patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, and work within the practice environment to address undifferentiated and undiagnosed cases.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for patients presenting with minor illness or injury within the PCN surgeries.
* Take history, perform physical examinations, diagnose and develop management plans.
* Provide assessment, treatment and diagnosis at the point of first contact in varied clinical and non‑clinical settings.
* Make professionally autonomous decisions and manage risk, including referral or discharge as appropriate.
* Extend home visits in accordance with relevant protocols.
* Advise patients on general healthcare, promote self‑management and signpost to community services, PCN services, and other relevant organisations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Completed a two‑year consolidation of learning post‑qualification and a further three years as a Band 6 (or equivalent) Paramedic – a minimum of five years post‑registration experience.
* Full registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Paramedic Science degree.
* Independent Prescriber status (desirable).
* Higher Education qualification (level 7).
* Car ownership with a valid driver’s licence.
Essential Skills
* Experience working in primary or community care settings.
* Ability to manage and prioritise workload and work autonomously.
* Flexible within core practice hours.
* Organisational, communication and time‑management skills.
* Basic proficiency in Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of SystmOne (desirable).
Contract Details
Permanent, full‑time, flexible working pattern. Pay: £20‑£26 per hour.
