Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an Automation Test Analyst for a 7 Month contract based in Edinburgh or London.
Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Automation Test Analyst to join our Financial Crime Technology - Strategic InLife Testing team. You will be part of a large and dynamic testing function working on critical financial crime systems that protect the bank and its customers.
The role requires someone who is highly technical, self-sufficient, and comfortable working within existing automation frameworks. You will be expected to create new scripts, maintain and execute existing scripts, and ensure governance standards are met. Strong experience in automation, functional testing, API testing, and Scripting is essential, along with the ability to understand user stories and translate them into effective test cases.
As an Automation Test Analyst you will be responsible for:
* Designing, developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks across multiple applications.
* Executing test scripts and managing regression suites within established automation frameworks.
* Translating user stories and requirements into well-structured test scripts and scenarios.
* Collaborating closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage aligns with functional and non-functional requirements.
* Supporting API and integration testing using relevant tools and frameworks.
* Conducting performance and load testing to validate system stability and scalability.
* Ensuring test artefacts and scripts are governed, version-controlled, and reusable.
* Providing reporting and defect management via JIRA and other governance tools.
Required Skills:
* Strong hands-on experience with Selenium and Java for automation.
* Experience in creating, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts.
* Ability to understand and interpret user stories, and translate them into test cases and scripts.
* Solid experience with API testing (eg, Postman, RestAssured).
* Strong understanding of testing governance and defect management processes (JIRA).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Desirable/Advantageous:
* Experience with MongoDB for database validation.
* Familiarity with automation frameworks/tools such as Cucumber, JUnit, Maven, Git/GitLab, Artifactory.
* Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, DX-APM.
* Previous experience in financial services or financial crime technology.
