Head Ranger

About the role
This is a hands-onrole where you will lead and manage a team of permanentand seasonal Rangers. You will ensure the park is wellmaintainedand welcoming for visitors. You will play a key role within the Parks Operational Management team and act as a Duty Manager on a rota basis.
As Rutland Water is operational 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year (excluding Christmas Day), you will need to be flexible to work across peak seasons, major events within the calendar and step in to help acrossthe site where needed. Typically, you work longer days in the summer and shorter days in the winter.

What will you be doing?
Daily duties can vary as a Head Ranger, so no two days are usually the same.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Lead and plan the maintenance programmes and presentation of the park and buildings.
2. Manage and complete daily/weekly/monthly inspections on ourdigital portal to ensure compliance and safety is a top priority
3. Manage car park systems, ensuring the uptime of the barrier and payment systems, whilst following cash handling procedures and reporting.
4. Oversee fish stocking, catch returns and angling compliance across the site, whilst ensuring safety and high-quality experiences areenjoyed by all.
5. Maintain our65 boatfishing fleet and the accompanying equipment.
6. Work alongside the Retailand Online Sales Manager and Event Organisers to plan and deliver fishing competitions across the year.
7. Support delivery oflarge scale and park-ledevents
8. Work alongside our Senior Conservation Ranger and Ground Maintenance teamtowork onconservation and land management programmes
9. Linemanagepermanent and seasonal Rangers and ensure rotas are planned efficiently.
What does it take?
10. Experience in managing parks, landmanagementor fishery management
11. Strong customer service,leadershipand team management skills
12. Chainsaw and tractor driving qualifications
13. First Aid qualification certificate
14. Experience managing budgets and contractors
15. PB2 qualification, however, this can begained through the role
