Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount within their engineering team, they are looking for an experienced electrical biased shift engineer.
Role and Responsibilities of a Shift Engineer
* Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvement, modification or upgrade of plant, fully automated production and packaging machinery and site services.
* Steam and boiler system maintenance.
* Follow PPM schedules efficiently and effectively.
* Electrical fault finding and modifications of PLCs, HMis, SCADA Systems and control panels.
* Mechanical repair and fault finding.
* Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives and valves.
* PLC electrical fault finding.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to be a Shift Engineer
* Multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias.
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship.
* Excellent problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills.
* Knowledge of a production environment, continuous improvement and development.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair skills.
* Experience in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing/production environment.
* Experience with boilers and steam systems is advantageous.
* Experience with PLC systems, control panels, HMis and SCADA systems.
* Bonus: 17th / 18th Edition certification.
