Responsibilities
* Reactive maintenance of both domestic and commercial buildings.
* Regular customer feedback handling and issue escalation prevention.
* Maintenance of pumps, cylinders, and control gear across all buildings.
* Maintenance of hot and cold-water systems across all buildings.
* Statutory PPM completion and follow up on PPM planner.
* Installation of new pipework, services, and fittings as required.
* Leak repairs as required and guttering replacement.
* Collaboration with other maintenance team members as required.
* Assistance to contractors as and when required.
* Keeping up-to-date with new materials and methods of application.
* Updating records on the sites CAFM system.
* Other duties as may be required by the Head of M&E or Head of Fabric.
* Safe and tidy work practices and compliance with current health and safety legislation.
* Compliance with the College Health & Safety Policy.
Qualifications and Skills
* Self-motivated with a flexible approach and initiative to complete works safely.
* Plumbing Qualification – City & Guilds Plumbing Qualification (Preferred).
* Minimum 3 years’ experience.
* Valid UK Driving Licence (Required).
CSCS (Preferred).
Sufficient level of literacy and IT knowledge to complete records and receive jobs through CAFM System.
Broad and extensive knowledge of plumbing and heating systems.
Experience in fault finding and repair methods.
Knowledge of above and below ground foul and rainwater drainage systems.
Experience with a variety of pipework, iron, copper, lead, plastic and associated fittings.
Knowledge of safe working practices and ability to apply in practice.
Awareness of COSHH and health and safety regulations for building and maintenance.
Good awareness of Asbestos.
Terms and Conditions
Working hours Monday‑Friday 39 hours per week – Some out of hours work required including possible emergency attendance.
Salary £32,000 - £34,000 depending on experience.
Holidays: 25 working days plus 5 days over Christmas period. Public holidays in term time normal working days; a day off in lieu is given at another time.
