About the role
As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day at the delivery hub before heading out on route.
* Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Help load your delivery vehicle with the day's items, working with the warehouse team.
* Show respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
* Install products efficiently, demonstrate their use, and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience
* UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
* Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including delivering large items.
* Passion for technology and installation.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous experience in installation and delivery driving.
Full-time, 41 hours per week over 4 days on a 5-week rota. Weekend work required, including 3 out of 5 Saturdays.
