Material Handler Job Description
The Material Handler helps maintain warehouse stock and assists in fulfilling orders. Responsibilities include loading and unloading products from and to our production department daily.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversees the workflow of the shipping department to ensure no interruptions, delays, or stops within the process.
2. Moves products constantly and must be very detail-oriented.
3. Packs, labels, and stages all shipments.
4. Performs basic accounting measures such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
5. Operates heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
6. Maintains strong inventory control.
7. Performs all other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Forklift experience preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Quick learner and team player.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Must be at least 21 years old.
* Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 100 lbs to a height of 5 feet and carry such weight for at least 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
* Ability to work seated or standing at workstations for extended periods, climb ladders/stairs, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle objects frequently or constantly.
* Ability to handle organic matter daily, wear PPE as appropriate, and work in various environmental conditions.
* Visual acuity sufficient for reading, viewing a computer, and inspecting small parts, with clarity at 20 ft or more.
* Effective verbal communication skills in a moderate noise environment.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered. The position involves working approximately 40 hours per week and may require availability after hours for emergencies.
