Adur Health Partnership is a large, innovative GP Partnership based over 4 sites in Shoreham and Southwick, currently serving over 36,500 patients in our catchment area.

We are recruiting for 35 to 37 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS). To provide an efficient audio typing and word processing service for the GPs and health professionals as required.

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary. There may beon occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependentupon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.Typingletters, reports and associated documentation as required
b.ActionTasks
c.Followingthe referral process through from start to finish
d.Liaisingwith external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuringreferrals are processed efficiently
e.Preparedocumentation for patients and external organisations as required
f.Manageall enquires in an effective manner
g.Maintainan accurate referrals database
h.Regularlycheck email inbox and action accordingly
i.Inputdata into the patients healthcare records as necessary
j.Liaisingwith the external referral support team on a regular basis
k.Readcode data on the clinical system Emis.
l.Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
m.Manageall administrative queries as necessary
n.Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
o.Supportall clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
