Maybell Quantum is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to develop and design the next generation in quantum infrastructure. This person excels in a fast-paced, hardware-based startup environment. They possess excellent technical and analytical skills and can effectively manage small projects while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Determine technical specifications for sub-systems and components to meet overall product development requirements
* Collaborate across teams and departments to determine root cause of issues, identify corrective actions, and implement design changes to improve existing products and processes
* Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.
* Drive sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.
* Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality product
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar field.
* 1-3 years working experience in mechanical design
* A proven track record of bringing mechanical concepts to reality
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Experience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software
* Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard
* Experience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)
* Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
* Machine shop and fabrication skills
