Position Summary
The role is geared around fault finding and diagnosing of train systems including TPWS (Train Protection and Warning Systems), AWS (Automatic Warning Systems), PIS (Passenger Information Systems), traction, braking, doors, radios, CCTV, HVAC units, DOO (Driver Only Operations), and MVB (communication network system). Ensure trains leave the site fully tested with no quality defects.
Experience Considered
* In-depth electrical knowledge
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes
* Experience reading schematics and written working instructions
* Testing (megger meters, flash tests, continuity tests)
* Fault finding / diagnostics / problem solving
* Wiring
* Methodical and meticulous approach
* Confidence to sign off and take responsibility for workmanship
* Electrical qualification
* Ability to prioritise work to maximise output
* Computer literate (data downloads are part of the position)
* Work within a small team and independently when required
* Safe approach to work within an industrial environment
* Ability to react and solve problems as they arise
* HV aware
Additional Information
A must is a formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g., Apprenticeship, Degree, HND, HNC, 16th/17th edition, Level 3 Electrical Installation, 2391 City and Guilds). All applicants must be able to pass a drugs and alcohol test before being offered a position.
