This is an internal secondment opportunity for 23 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated senior nurse who is passionate about breast cancer to support and manage patients receiving SACT.

They will deliver the benefits to patients of increased access to equitable, consistent, and standardised care, which will in turn improve patient experience and a more robust informed consent process i.e., a truly informed process, so that patients understand their options and next steps.

This role will ensure that there is increased access to education on mBC and treatments, to improve adherence and consequently improve patients' outcomes.

The successful candidate would be expected to implement a personalised care plan for their patients.

By having a SACT CNS in post, clinic wait times will reduce, which will provide extra capacity created by new workforce role. Unplanned medical reviews and admissions will also be avoided.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as part of a well-established dynamic breast multi-disciplinary team who provide specialist advice, holistic care and support to patients, their relatives and all members of the health care teams within the hospital. With the support of the team you will lead and manage a caseload of patients with specialist needs. You will be required to lead, support, develop and evaluate the breast cancer service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-disciplinary framework. The role is an internal secondment opportunity, which covers a week day specialist service and the post is full time - 37.5 hours per week.

1. Registered Nurse and current NMC Registration
2. Master’s Degree or equivalent experience Specialist qualifications Expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality
3. Knowledge of service improvement
