About the Role
You will be joining a well-established and supportive community service with a wide multi-disciplinary team and expanding nursing team. The nursing team is well established with a range of experience and knowledge: we currently have a band 8 Lead Nurse, 3 × band 7 nurses and 2 × band 6 nurses as well as student nurses throughout the year. There will be learning and training opportunities within the team and we will support you with your development within the role. You will receive monthly clinical and management supervision from a band 7 nurse as well as monthly group nursing supervision.
This would be a wonderful opportunity to work with young people and families in the community and gain knowledge and experience with working with Eating Disorders; alongside clinical assessment skills and physical health monitoring assessments.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with young people and their families, providing interventions and therapy alongside other professionals involved in their care.
* Deliver Family Based Treatment (FBT) for Eating Disorders in accordance with NICE guidelines.
* Provide training and support to enable effective delivery of FBT.
* Participate in monthly clinical and management supervision.
Work Environment
The service follows the 2015 NHSE community eating disorders Access and Waiting Times Guidelines and Standards; and believes in early and fast intervention for all young people. The service operates Monday to Friday (8 am – 6 pm) with a mix of face‑to‑face and online sessions depending on the needs of the young person and the family. Flexible and part‑time hours will also be considered.
