Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contract Manager to oversee and manage contractual agreements within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of project management principles, particularly within the construction sector. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organisational and communication skills to ensure that all contracts are executed efficiently and in compliance with legal standards.
Senior Contracts Manager

Reports to: Operations Director
Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing construction projects from inception to completion. The works are predominantly Civil Engineering and Construction in nature.
Key responsibilities:
* Full project management of construction projects
* Lead all site-based activities, ensuring zero accidents and championing ACS values.
* Establish and maintain project programmes, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
* Monitor progress, identify issues, and take corrective actions as required.
* Manage procurement schedules, liaising with the Buying team and subcontractors.
* Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
* Manage project variations, valuations, and final accounts with the Commercial team.
* Support and review site performance, ensuring compliance with HSQE standards.
* Maintain strong client relationships, resolving disputes and securing agreement on variations.
* Promote best practice across all ACS projects, driving continuous improvement.
* Support Site Managers, ensuring resources are available and teams are trained.
* Conduct regular site reviews and team meetings to ensure alignment and communication.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
* CSCS Contracts Manager Accreditation
* SMSTS 5-day qualification
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role within civil engineering and construction
* Experience of operating in high-risk environments (energy, renewables, Oil/gas, COMAH) is advantageous
* Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently
* UK driving licence
* Proactive problem-solving approach
