CNC Programmer / Machinist (5-Axis Milling or Multi-Axis Turning)

About the Company
Our client is a leading precision engineering and manufacturing specialist supplying high-precision components to major medical and aerospace organisations. Operating to ISO 13485 and AS9100 standards, the company continues to invest in advanced machining technology and automation as it expands its production capabilities.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit experienced CNC Programmers / Machinists to join their high-performance manufacturing team. Opportunities are available for individuals with experience in either 5-Axis Milling or Multi-Axis Turning using Fanuc controls.
The Role
This is a hands-on CNC programming and machining position focused on producing complex, tight-tolerance components for medical and aerospace applications.
Depending on your experience, you will work on either:
*
5-Axis / 4-Axis / 3-Axis CNC Milling machines (Matsuura / Fanuc)
or
*
Multi-axis CNC lathes featuring twin spindle, twin turret and live tooling capabilities.
You will take ownership of programming, setting and optimising machining operations to ensure exceptional quality and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
*
Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes for multi-axis milling or turning machines
*
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications
*
Set, operate and prove out new programmes prior to production
*
Select appropriate tooling, work holding and machining strategies
*
Produce components to tight tolerances required in medical and aerospace sectors
*
Conduct first-off inspections and work closely with quality teams
*
Improve cycle times and machining efficiency through optimisation
*
Maintain machine performance and support routine maintenance activities.
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer / Machinist
*
Experience with either:
*
5-Axis / 4-Axis Milling, or
*
Multi-Axis CNC Turning with live tooling
*
Strong experience with Fanuc controls
*
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
*
Strong knowledge of tooling, fixturing, feeds & speeds and machining best practices
*
Background in medical, aerospace or other precision engineering environments is highly desirable.
