Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals to join our friendly and professional team within the Operating Theatre Department as a Theatre Support Worker. We cover several different specialities including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynae and Obstetrics, ENT, maxillofacial, Breast, Urology and Ophthalmic.
Role Responsibilities
You will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and cleanliness of the theatre environment for both surgery and anaesthetics. You will provide care to the patients throughout their journey in the operating theatre and support staff at all levels.
Training and Requirements
You must be willing to work towards completion of the Care Certificate and, within an 18‑month period, complete a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. The post is subject to the Protection of Children’s Act 1999 and the Care Standards Act 2000. Successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check to ascertain suitability to work with children and/or vulnerable adults.
Qualifications & Skills
* Good communication skills essential
* Maths and English required at GCSE Grade A‑C, 4‑9, or Functional Skills Level 2
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced theatre environment, supporting multidisciplinary teams
