At Gregory Distribution Ltd, as a result of continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Transport Manager based at our Stowmarket Depot.
The position of Transport Manager involves:
1. Oversee the resourcing, organising, and supervising the transport activities.
2. Responsibility for all operational and legal compliance.
3. Building and motivating a team from the initial set up of operation, including drivers and office staff.
4. Support for the Operations Manager on both local and group objectives.
5. Additional training with Drivers on vehicle checks, company processes, infringements, CPC being kept up to date.
6. Keeping Drivers Induction records, CPC records, licence checks and on the job training up to date.
7. Deal with Key Contacts within our customer base.
8. Producing KPI’s for the Business Area and presenting them to the Operations Manager.
9. Set objectives and measure relevant financial and operational KPI’s to Operations Manager.
10. Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
11. Identifying any areas that are underperforming and put in place strategy plans for improvement.
12. Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety and compliance.
13. Producing statistics as required for customer meetings.
14. Performing 1-2-1’s on a regular basis with direct reports.
15. Conduct annual PDR interviews with direct reports.
