Associate Civil Infrastructure Engineer (Development)
WSP in the UK & Ireland – a leading engineering and professional services firm.
Responsibilities
* Technical leadership of a variety of civil engineering design projects both in the UK and overseas
* Act as Project Director or Project Manager on a wide range of projects, undertaking project reviews to optimise solutions and coordinate multi‑disciplinary inputs
* Managing resources at project level and managing people within the local team
* Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects
* Leading a culture of technical review and challenge
* Developing client relationships and helping them achieve sustainable and future‑proof developments
* Leading and contributing to tenders / bids
* Supervision and mentoring of junior members of the team
* Supporting the regional and local office leads, along with the wider Development team and WSP leadership & business development
* Working collaboratively with the Development team and the wider Planning and Development team to achieve organisational aims and objectives
Qualifications
* A BEng / BSc (Hon) in Civil Engineering or a relevant qualification with experience in managing development projects
* Chartered/Incorporated professional qualification (desirable)
* Broad range of project experience within civil engineering and multi‑disciplinary projects, including drainage, utilities and highway engineering
* Proven track record in project management and financial control
* Commercial and strategic capability with demonstrable new business development experience
* Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management and team leadership skills
* Passion for mentoring and developing talent
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders, fostering open dialogue and feedback
