Operations Manager – Groundworks & Earthworks

£55,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

Join a growing, innovative construction solutions business as Operations Manager and take the lead in delivering one of the UK’s most exciting geotechnical systems.
We’re on the hunt for a practical, proactive, and commercially aware leader to head up the construction division. This is a critical hire and a major opportunity to shape the future of the installation team and drive the expansion of an innovative geotechnical consultancy across the UK.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee the national delivery of all vegetated retaining wall systems system installations
Lead a team of supervisors, manage multiple concurrent sites
Validate feasibility of designs, attend site visits, oversee installation, and ensure smooth project close-out
Liaise with design, commercial, hydroseeding, and logistics teams
Support hiring and training as the team scales
You’ll Need:
Experience managing JCT/NEC contracts
Strong background in groundworks/earthworks
Solid understanding of CDM regulations
A qualification in Construction Management (HND/HNC minimum)
Ability to travel nationwide and stay away when needed
Ideal Background:
You’ve previously worked with a contractor, led site-based teams, and aren’t afraid to get stuck in. You know what can and can’t be done on-site, think ahead, and manage competing demands calmly and confidently. Bonus points if you’ve worked with labour-only contractors or on D&B contracts.
