Overview

Role Title: Project Manager. Reporting Line: The Project Manager will report to the Head of New Product Introduction. Department: New Product Introduction (NPI) within ATL’s eVessels organisation, Technical & Operational Delivery pillar. The NPI department owns and maintains the overarching framework, processes and approach that all of ATL’s new products must be delivered to, to ensure strategic projects are delivered in a consistent, accurate, and efficient manner. The NPI team leads the delivery of all products and strategic projects through the various phases and stages of the product life cycle within time, cost, scope and quality targets, working across early conceptual design through procurement, manufacturing, and operation, and developing and managing supporting processes, governance and project structures.

The department sits within the Technical & Operational Delivery pillar of ATL’s eVessels organisation.


Role Overview

The New Product Introduction team is expanding and therefore looking for an enthusiastic and motivated project professional to join its team. This is an opportunity to develop skills and grow experience in a highly innovative and dynamic organisation embarking on a mission to decarbonise the maritime industry. The Project Manager will manage projects within the EF24 Programme under the direction of the Head of New Product Introduction to ensure these elements are delivered according to the goals and constraints of the EF24 Programme. They will lead projects in collaboration with the EF24 Chief Technical Project Engineer, proactively managing, problem solving, escalating issues, and identifying risks for their assigned projects. They will be responsible for stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and sub-contractors, and will assist the Head of NPI in governance and in maturing the suite of project and programme management processes and tools.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, mature, and manage projects within the EF24 programme
* Lead and manage cross-functional projects and teams in a dynamic environment
* Act as point of contact for internal and external customers/stakeholders for projects under their responsibility
* Management of suppliers and sub-contractors
* Develop detailed plans and timelines for assigned projects and illustrate how they fit into and impact the overall programme
* Track and monitor progress, identify and track risks and issues, and report deviations from the plan
* Proactively problem solve and implement mitigation strategies to risks or issues to prevent delays, escalating as required
* Regularly report project status and progress to Head of NPI and other senior stakeholders
* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments and functions
* Support and assist the Head of NPI with all aspects of project management
* Comply with ATL’s policies and procedures
* Demonstrate initiative, energy and a positive approach in a dynamic environment


Education and Specialist Skills

* Degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience


Experience

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a project management/leadership role or equivalent, preferably in an innovative engineering and manufacturing environment


Preferred Experience

* Experience in maritime, automotive, aerospace, de-carbonisation/zero-emissions sectors
* Project Management Qualification or Certification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or similar)
