Reports to: Senior Buyer
Onsite Role: Alan Bray Close, Dodwells Bridge Industrial Estate, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3BP
The Operations Buyer will be responsible ensuring that raw materials / consumables and any third-party services are available as required by the company production plans and are obtained from approved sources at the best price.
Furthermore, the role will actively contribute to Supply Chain projects to improve supplier performance and lower costs for both direct and indirect materials / services.
* Ensuring on time material supply in line with the SIOP timetable and procedures.
* Ensuring that Supplier lead times are known and respected.
* Negotiate long term agreements with suppliers where appropriate.
* Ensure that all procurement is from approved sources as dictated by Aerospace standards and / or customer specification.
* Maximising supplier delivery performance.
* Working with Supply Chain team to reduce cost from the Supply Chain and support Supplier development projects.
* Providing information to stakeholders relating to supplier delivery plans.
* Ensuring MRP purchase requirements are managed in line with lead times and delivery dates.
* Optimising inventory.
* Escalating issues of risk and material shortages in real time.
* To work with the Production Planner(s) in the event of a critical supply shortage / build stop risk.
* To work with Stores personnel to minimise good receipt / dwell time.
* To support with Supplier risk assessments and audits.
* KPI – Supplier OTIF, Purchase Price Variance
* Experience with ERP / MRP systems
* Experience with Microsoft packages essential
* Strong negotiation skills
* Good communication skills
* Experience within the Aerospace Industry is an advantage
* 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Ability to work on own initiative essential
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
