Apprentice Sports Coach
JOB PURPOSE
To assist in delivering the national curriculum, supporting physical education, and engaging children in sport and physical activity across the school.
Description of role
Key aspects of the role include:
* Supporting the delivery of PE lessons
* Delivering physical activity and engagement during break and lunch times
* Assisting with school games competitions
RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder will work under the direct instruction of teaching staff and should aim to carry out the following duties:
* Working directly with pupils across all key stages
* Collaborating with partner organisations in PE and Sport
* Supporting the PE department
* Planning activity programmes for pupils, families, and communities
* Performing baseline and impact assessments of pupils' physical activity and fundamental movement skills
* Supporting the delivery of engaging PE lessons
* Delivering lunchtime activities
* Implementing family engagement projects for physical activity
* Supporting strategies to achieve 30 minutes of daily activity
* Coordinating the Play Leaders programme
* Supporting participation in competitive sports events at school, MAT, and regional levels
* Safeguarding children at all times
* Contributing to the school's ethos and values
* Raising standards by sharing high expectations with children
* Supervising and supporting pupils to ensure their safety, following good H&S practices
* Assisting teachers and coaches in managing pupil behaviour and reporting issues
* Attending CPD training sessions as required
* Participating in events and training across local schools within the Multi-Academy Trust as needed
