Assistant Building Surveyor required for a delivery focused role in the South-West region (Bristol/Cardiff offices). Our service offering tends to focus on regional and national programmes of work involving significant size and scale, working with both private and public sector clients. The offering includes:
Programmes of survey instructions that include condition, planned preventative maintenance, dilapidations, investment due diligence and defect surveys.
Programmes of refurbishment and maintenance project delivery/management and contract.
You’ll be responsible for:
5. Assisting in the preparing of feasibility studies and recommendations.
6. Helping scoping, estimate and present reports.
7. Helping undertake surveys, design and specification services.
8. Respecting and help delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health and safety and etc.
9. Help prepare a timely and effective post contract administration and final account agreement.
10. Taking personal responsibility for some areas of service delivery.
11. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
12. Working with senior surveyors, associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work.
13. Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the sense internal database.
14. Assisting with existing and new technology for data capture and reporting.
15. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the consultancy across all sectors.
You’ll need to have:
16. Previous building surveying experience in a consultancy environment would be beneficial but not essential.
17. Some technical knowledge and competency in building surveying.
18. Good negotiation, presentation and report writing skills.
You’ll also have:
19. A degree in building surveying or equivalent.
20. Professional memberships i.e. MRICS/RICS.
21. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone working towards their RICS APC and looking for additional support to achieve this. The Exeter Building Surveying lead manages the Mace APC building surveying pathway support for the broader business.
