The Amazon B2B Payments & Lending team provides invoicing, working capital, and payment acceptance solutions to Amazon Business customers, sellers, and other small businesses across Amazon. The Amazon B2B Payments and Lending team is seeking a Sr. Portfolio Manager to oversee the credit performance of the European Lending portfolio. The successful candidate will be a thought leader capable of building and scaling a best-in-class credit management program. Responsibilities include managing the Lending program from a risk perspective, addressing small and medium-sized business challenges in obtaining capital, and maintaining target loss rates. The role involves driving credit policy changes, informing automated decision-making, and monitoring systems based on customers’ financials and creditworthiness. The ideal candidate should have strong people and credit management skills, support continuous improvement initiatives, be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team-oriented, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build stakeholder relationships.
Key job responsibilities
1. Managing end-to-end credit strategy across the customer lifecycle and through economic cycles and shocks
2. Assisting in defining policies and product features to support credit decisioning and monitoring
3. Establishing, improving, and leading a credit adjudication and performance monitoring platform
4. Developing processes, mechanisms, and SOPs for scalable growth
5. Partnering with underwriting operations on complex credit decisions requiring manual reviews or exceptions
6. Identifying innovations and driving experiments to enhance customer payment experiences
7. Monitoring and communicating key metrics to assess decision quality and portfolio health
8. Participating in program operations, collaborating with product managers, and contributing to team improvements
9. Managing relationships with Accounts Receivables for loss mitigation and recovery
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in compliance, audit, or risk management
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* Experience in commercial credit risk management
* Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience processing complex datasets
* Managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* MBA, CFA, FRM, or Master’s Degree in relevant fields
* Experience scaling credit risk programs for unsecured B2B lending portfolios
* Demonstrated judgment and strategic insight
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and problem-solving at root cause
* Effective time management and organizational skills
