Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to join our growing Midlands team, contracted from our Midlands region.
The Project Controls Manager will lead our Midlands Project Controls team, working with various clients to implement best practice controls, planning, analytics, reporting, risk, change, resource, and performance management solutions on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, engaging with all aspects of Project Controls to ensure the successful achievement of project, program, and portfolio objectives.
Qualifications
* Experience in managing a project controls team on major projects, ensuring scope delivery and effective resource coordination.
* Experience in implementing bespoke project controls strategies on projects, programs, and portfolios.
* Knowledge of best practice project controls principles and understanding of project and business objectives, including client-specific strategies.
* Ability to define success criteria and establish processes and governance to achieve them.
* Subject Matter Expertise in at least one discipline of Project Controls: Planning, Analytics and Reporting, Risk, Cost Control, Estimating, Change, Governance, or Strategy.
* Working knowledge of project controls systems like Primavera, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Azure, Tableau, SharePoint, CEMAR, etc., with the ability to advise on suitable solutions.
* Understanding of NEC contracts and their impact on project controls delivery.
* Experience in conducting independent reviews, ensuring high-quality project data, and managing commissions within compliance.
* Confidence in delivering project status updates to stakeholders and recommending recovery or mitigation strategies.
* Ability to foster a positive culture within the project controls team, hold team members accountable, and ensure effective communication and coordination.
Desirable Skills
* Line management experience, demonstrating leadership and motivation skills.
* Experience in bid or proposal preparation, review, and assurance.
* Strong oral and written communication skills for relationship building and reporting.
* Passion for mentoring and passing on expertise.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
