Litigation Lawyer - CICA Department Location: Leeds (Hybrid) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Role Overview We're seeking a skilled professional to join our CICA department, providing expert support and representation to clients pursuing compensation through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in CICA claims who can work autonomously, even if not formally qualified. You'll manage your own caseload, securing fair outcomes for clients while delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of CICA claims from instruction to resolution. Advise clients on eligibility, evidence, and compensation under the CICA scheme. Prepare and progress applications, appeals, and tribunal hearings. Liaise with medical experts, witnesses, and other professionals. Review and assess police and medical evidence. Draft documents, correspondence, and appeal submissions. Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance. Keep up to date with developments in CICA legislation and procedure. Skills & Experience Proven experience handling CICA claims independently. Strong client care, drafting, and analytical skills. Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and IT skills. Empathetic, organised, and proactive approach.
