Civil Design Engineer – Highways & Drainage
Leeds | £37,000 – £44,000 + Benefits
The Role
You will be joining a well‑established civil engineering team delivering infrastructure design from concept through to detailed stages.
Responsibilities
* Design highways, junctions, access roads and public realm layouts.
* Deliver drainage designs, including SuDS, foul, and surface water systems.
* Prepare designs for Section 278, 38, 104 and 106 submissions.
* Work with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and related software.
* Produce drawings, reports, specifications and technical calculations.
* Support senior engineers and liaise directly with clients, architects and local authorities.
* Contribute to project planning, design review meetings and technical approvals.

What We’re Looking For
* 2–5+ years’ experience in civil/infrastructure design.
* Background in highways and/or drainage design.
* Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
* Understanding of UK design standards (DMRB, MfS, SuDS, etc.).
* Experience producing drawings and technical documentation.
* Enthusiasm for progression and chartership development.
