Job Description
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the refurbishment of a live care facility based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. This is a fixed-term contract for approximately 6 months, starting in June 2025, with flexibility on terms for the right candidate.
This role requires a hands-on manager with a strong background in refurbishment projects, particularly those involving live environments and listed buildings. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all site activities and ensuring the works are delivered safely, to programme, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day site operations and construction programme.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
*
Monitor site logistics and short/long-term planning.
*
Ensure compliance with:
*
Listed Building Consent and Building Control
*
CDM 2015 and HSE legislation
*
Fire safety and passive protection measures
*
Liaise with local authorities, building control, and consultants.
*
Lead toolbox talks, inductions, and safety audits.
*
Enforce RAMS and quality control procedures.
*
Report progress, risk, and cost updates to the Senior Management Team.
*
Oversee procurement and site deliveries to prevent disruption.
*
Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience in construction management on refurbishment projects.
*
Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CDM 2015, and fire safety standards.
*
Confident leading teams and engaging with stakeholders and authorities.
*
Competent with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
*
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and schedules.
Certificates Required:

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

CSCS Black or White Card (Management level)
