We can promise you rewarding work which makes a real impact, the chance to learn from inspiring colleagues from across a growing, global network and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.Our competitive package offers a wide range of benefits and rewards.The positionThis position will be responsible for supporting the Northern Europe Asset Management business within commercial asset management.Commercial Asset Management is the focus on protecting clients, and their investors’ interests by maximising projects net asset value.Enforcing contractual rights, optimising value from the supply chain, tendering and procurement of new agreements, identifying opportunities, and commercial considerations to enhance operations of assets, with the overall goal to increase value (not necessarily export).This role will cover all technologies managed by RES including Solar, Wind and Energy Storage. Duties will include owner interaction, contract management, supporting complex insurance claims, using and creating tools for the analysis of projects, forecasting performance of assets, and managing continuous improvement. The duties with this role will suit a team player who is flexible and initiative, and able to help implement new systems of working. This position may include travel a couple of times a year within Northern Europe.AccountabilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for:
1. Supporting the Northern Europe asset management business to increase the net asset value of renewable energy assets, which may include Wind, Solar and Energy Storage
2. Provide high quality management of on-going contracts with our existing suppliers, consultants, and sub-contractors
3. Managing a portfolio of renewable energy project contracts through the contract lifecycle
4. Leading tenders for new services and renewals, including contract negotiations on a variety of different operational contracts, reviewing and drafts of terms, and liaising with clients and their respective legal teams
5. Reviewing performance of contracts, including supplier performance calculations and calculations of bonus or liquidated damages
6. Working alongside key stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, including KPIs (including contractual liquidated damages and bonus payments), attending supplier meetings to discuss performance
7. Managing aspects of the commercial framework of the project, including leading on insurance claims, warranty claims, and material disputes
8. Responsible for management of a client’s portfolio of contracts, attending client meetings on a regular basis, reporting on status of portfolio, and proving contract and commercial advice as required
9. Reviewing of contractual terms to support and advise asset managers on specific queries, including upgrades, performance, insurance claims, PPA obligations, AMA scope and other ad hoc topics
10. Review of physical defects and performance against contract warranties. Drafting and sending notices of defect and nonconformance and following through to completion
11. Supporting the integration and adoption of new projects to ensure they are ‘Operations Ready’. Acting as Adoption Lead if required
12. Capturing lessons learnt and participate in and support Asset Management Department ‘Continuous Improvement’ activity
13. Attending internal, and external supplier and client meetings. Taking minutes and updating documentation
14. Updating and maintaining contract management tools/trackers
Knowledge
15. Strong computer literacy with particular knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office; SharePoint and Docusign
16. Understanding of the regulatory landscape within Northern Europe
17. Knowledge of subcontracting and tendering processes
18. Knowledge of renewable energy contracts
19. Awareness of the importance of HSQE requirements an advantage
Skills
20. The ability to be highly organised, in order to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, working to tight deadlines
21. A keen attention to detail, specifically when dealing with technical and legal documentation
22. Strong and proven stakeholder relationship skills
23. Strong commercial problem-solving skills
24. Ability to identify and summarise key contractual provisions
25. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Experience
26. Previous commercial and contract management experience preferable
27. Experience in construction, asset management or Renewables preferable
28. Experience in managing O&M contracts, PPAs, Construction and or major component supply contracts
29. Managing and resolving disputes between parties
30. Experience of handling insurance claims
Qualifications
31. Any relevant business, contract, management, or renewable qualifications
32. Degree/HND level education preferable but not absolute requirement
