Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture, build, repair, and maintain mould tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in the production of gas turbine components.
* Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment, to produce parts with high precision.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan and execute projects.
* Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of tools and dies.
* Ensure all tools meet quality standards and are in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
* Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve tooling issues and make improvements to enhance production efficiency.
* Conduct tests on newly built or repaired tools to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
* O-Level or GCSE equivalent; completion of a recognised apprenticeship or vocational program in toolmaking or machining preferred.
* 5 years of experience in toolmaking or machining within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Proficiency with machine tools and techniques, including milling, grinding, and CNC programming.
* Strong knowledge of technical drawing reading and measurement techniques.
* Ability to work with a variety of materials, such as Tool Steels, Aluminium and Graphite (Electrodes)
* Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
