Job Description ALTEN UK is hiring an Electronics Design Engineer to join our consultants working on advanced space communications and satellite systems. Youll be responsible for the design and development of high-performance electronic hardware for use in demanding space environments. What youll be doing: Designing high power, high frequency electronics for satellite and space applications. Developing flexible PCB boards (26 layers) and supporting complex designs up to 16 layers for FPGA-based systems. Working on communications systems hardware, ensuring reliability and performance in extreme environments. Applying design practices for signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and radiation tolerance. Supporting system-level integration, validation, and environmental testing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (systems, RF, FPGA, and mechanical engineers). Qualifications What were looking for: Strong background in electronics design for space, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors. Experience with high-frequency, high-power circuit design. Skilled in flexible PCB design (26 layers) and complex multi-layer designs (up to 16 layers). Knowledge of FPGA integration within communications systems. Familiar with EMI/EMC, radiation tolerance, and design-for-space standards. Confident working in a structured, quality-driven environment (requirements traceability, config/change control).
