About Our Client
My client is a well-established organisation in their field. They are keen for a strong Finance professional to join them on their growth journey.
Job Description
This role will require you to work 15-20 hours per week over 3 days (with the opportunity to grow your hours with time). The role will be office based for the 3 days.Main responsibilities are as follows:
3. Manage all aspects of company finances, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
4. Oversee the Xero accounting system, including reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
6. Lead budgeting and financial planning processes.
7. Analyse profitability across products and services, identifying opportunities for improvement.
8. Ensure adequate working capital and secure funding facilities as needed.
9. Manage accounts payable/receivable and oversee credit control.
10. Ensure VAT, HMRC, and payroll compliance.
11. Contribute financial insight to contract pricing and tender submissions.
12. Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts.
13. Develop and implement financial controls and reporting frameworks suitable for a scaling SME.
The Successful Applicant
14. Qualified Accountant or strong experience as a Qualified by Experience candidate.
15. Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within an SME.
16. Strong proficiency in Xero accounting software.
17. Skilled in cashflow management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
18. Ability to work independently and communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
19. Experience supporting SME growth
20. The ability to travel to Maidstone for 3 days per week.
If you have any experience of contract frameworks or tendering processes that would be very beneficial.
