Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and warehouse distribution. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient inventory management, process improvement, and the overall effectiveness of our warehouse operations. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for operating warehouse machinery as well as inventory management and coordinating incoming and outgoing loads. The role will be hands on.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily warehouse operations, hands on as well as at the desk
* Manage inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and accuracy.
* Implement process improvements utilising Lean principles to enhance operational efficiency.
* Supervise and train warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
* Coordinate transportation planning and logistics to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods.
* Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) for effective operations, such as Vigo.
* Collaborate with supply chain management teams to align demand planning with production planning.
* Monitor performance metrics related to order fulfilment, dispatching, and freight management.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar supervisory role within logistics or supply chain environments.
* Strong knowledge of inventory management, shipping & receiving processes, and warehouse distribution practices.
* Experience in demand planning, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) for effective logistics coordination.

What you'll be doing:
* Operating an FLT (forklift truck) for loading/unloading
* Using IT systems to manage stock and customer requirements
* Liaising with drivers and ensuring smooth deliveries
* Keeping the warehouse organised, safe, and efficient
* Taking ownership of operations across Ashington and Cramlington
What we're looking for:
* Valid FLT licence + confidence using it
* Previous warehouse experience (management/supervision a bonus)
* Good IT skills (comfortable with stock systems & Microsoft Office)
* Organised, proactive, and a strong communicator
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
