Responsibilities
* Verify and reconcile all revenue centres as reported in the Income Journal daily.
* Prepare and post the daily revenue, settlement and statistical journals into the General Ledger, ensuring hotel ledgers are fully reconciled and reporting discrepancies to the Finance Supervisor.
* Ensure system interfaces run smoothly; reconcile interface revenues and report system issues to help desk and Finance Supervisor promptly.
* Review and balance allowances, rebates, paid outs, refunds and miscellaneous charges.
* Review daily Housekeeping discrepancy reports and resolve any outstanding discrepancies.
* Prepare Daily Management Review (audit packs) including in-house entertainment, paid outs, unresolved PMs, housekeeping discrepancies, parking and laundry charges, and comp stays.
* Reconcile all non-PMS (Opera) revenues to Opera, including Micros POS and others.
* Record and journalise daily management checks for F&B outlets, promotions and in-house entertainment.
* Maintain an audit trail across tasks; audit complimentary bookings daily for proper authorization and accuracy.
* Spot-check the Guest in-house rate check report monthly and address discrepancies with the reservations department.
* Spot-check monthly menu changes to ensure price updates are reflected in Micros (POS).
* Spot-check all micro card access rights monthly to ensure departing employees return cards.
* Assist in food and beverage cost control duties, such as menu costing and beverage stock variance analysis.
* Complete Income audit risk register and assist internal and external auditors with queries.
* Support associated month-end responsibilities.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience in Finance or a similar role in hotel accounting. A strong knowledge of Excel, solid numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and good problem-solving abilities are required. You should have tertiary education in finance or accounting and strong communication skills (written and oral). Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
